This is a spicy authentic Indonesian rendang. The beef (better life 2 stars) simmers for hours in the pure flavours of coconut, Lombok chillies, and fresh lemongrass and lime leaves. Served alongside is a generous portion of crisp stir-fried vegetables and steamed rice. Selamat makan!
Indonesian Rendang
Beef chuck (better life 2 stars), cauliflower, bean sprouts, white cabbage, red bell pepper, sugar snap peas, white onion, garlic, red chilli, fresh lemongrass, bay leaf and ginger, coriander seeds, cloves, turmeric, galangal, candlenut, basmati rice, brown rice, tamarind, coconut milk, coconut cream, pepper and salt, sunflower oil.

Microwave
Heat the rendang and rice with vegetables loosely covered for 3-4 minutes (1 person) to 5-8 minutes (2 or more persons).

Preheat the rendang and rice with vegetables covered with an oven-safe plate or aluminium foil for 15-20 minutes (1 person) to 25-30 minutes (2 or more persons). Disposable containers cannot be used in the oven; transfer to an oven dish.
