Chicory from the Oven with Meatball
A delicious classic dish, healthy and loved by young and old alike! We first braise the fresh chicory until tender and then gratin it under a creamy sauce with ham (Beter Leven 2 stars) and mature cheese in the oven. Served with creamy mashed potatoes and a traditional Dutch meatball made from a mix of beef and pork.

Chicory, meatball (beef and pork mix, contains mustard and celery), diced ham, potato, fresh bay leaf and parsley, nutmeg, mature cheese, milk, butter, plain flour, Dijon mustard, extra virgin olive oil, pepper and salt.

Microwave
Heat the meatball, mashed potatoes, and chicory loosely covered for 3-4 minutes (1 person) to 5-8 minutes (2 or more persons).

Preheat the meatball, mashed potatoes, and chicory covered with aluminium foil or an oven-safe dish for 15-20 minutes (1 person) to 25-30 minutes (2 or more persons). Disposable containers cannot be used in the oven, transfer to an oven dish.
