Important news: Deposit on our bowls
Since the very beginning of MarleenKookt, we have been using reusable bowls that you can easily warm up in the oven or microwave. They look great on the table and help us use less plastic. From now on, we are switching to high-quality Pyrex glass baking dishes – so you maintain the same quality and ease of use, but no longer in porcelain.
We notice that many customers like to keep our bowls at home because they are so convenient to use. That's lovely, of course! However, it becomes very costly for us to continually purchase new bowls. Therefore, starting next week, we will introduce a deposit on our meal bowls.
How does it work?
- Deposit: The deposit is €5 per bowl – much less than what you would pay for the same high-quality Pyrex bowls in the shop.
- Returning: You can keep the bowls for as long as you like. When you decide to return them, we will simply take them with your next order. Scheduling a separate pickup appointment is no longer possible. Not ordering for a while? Then choose to have your last order delivered in disposable packaging.
- Credit: Upon return, you will receive the deposit as credit for your next order.
- Alternative: Would you prefer a disposable packaging? That is possible for €0.50 per meal.
Frequently asked questions
How does the deposit system work at MarleenKookt?
With each order, you pay a deposit for the glass bowls in which your meal is delivered. This amount is refunded as store credit once you return the bowls with your next order. The delivery person registers how many bowls you return. Once the registration is processed, you will receive an email confirmation with the amount you will get back. This amount will be deducted from your next order.
How much deposit do I pay per bowl?
The deposit is €5 per bowl – much less than what you would pay for the same high-quality Pyrex bowls in the shop. It does not matter whether you receive or return a large or small bowl; the amount remains the same.
How can I return the bowls?
You can give the bowls to the delivery person during your next delivery. Scheduling a separate pickup appointment is no longer possible. If you are not ordering for a while, choose to have your last order delivered in disposable packaging. Or you can keep the bowls for as long as you like, at no extra cost.
What if I do not return my bowls?
No worries! You can keep the bowls for as long as you like, at no extra cost.
How do I get my deposit back?
Once you have returned the bowls, the deposit amount will be credited to your account as store credit. The credit will be deducted from your next order. If you are not ordering for a while, choose to have your last order delivered in disposable packaging so you can return the bowls to the delivery person. Contact customer service if you prefer to have the deposit amount refunded.
Can I return my old bowls as well?
Yes, you can also return bowls from previous orders. If you paid a deposit for them, you will, of course, get that back. For bowls for which you did not pay a deposit, you will not receive any credit.
What happens if I forget to return a bowl with my next order?
No problem! You can always return the bowl with your next delivery.
What if I do not want to pay a deposit?
If you do not wish to pay a deposit, you can choose a disposable packaging. We charge €0.50 per meal for this.
What should I do with my porcelain bowls?
Please return those with your next order. You will not receive a deposit for them.
With this small adjustment, we keep our packaging sustainable and the costs manageable. If you have any questions, feel free to send me a message; I’m happy to help!
Love, Marleen
