Porcelain bowls and plastic containers
Together with Joris, I am testing new bowls for my meals.
I regularly receive questions from customers about further minimising the use of plastic. It's great that there is so much attention for this! Therefore, an update:
Reuse The porcelain bowls from the main meals are collected by our delivery drivers on the next order and reused. We also take back the bags in which the meals are transported, and these can be used for about 20 orders. Since we do not have a deposit system and lend the bowls on trust, there are times when I run short on bowls. For example, you might receive the salad in a plastic container.
Sustainable materials We have now tested many different packaging made from sustainable materials. Unfortunately, we have not yet found the perfect solution for soups, dips, dressings, and desserts that keeps the food fresh, allows the bowls to be well covered, and ensures that the bags with meals are not so heavy that they become untransportable.
So, it's a work in progress! Suggestions are always welcome and... the golden tip will be rewarded.
