Apple compote with vanilla
Apple compote with vanilla and star anise
With apple compote, you win many hearts at the table! Especially from little eaters, but secretly you also make the big eaters happy :-). My recipe is easy to make and by using star anise and vanilla pod, the compote gets a lovely amount of flavour!
Ingredients: 1.5 kilos of apples, peeled 150 grams of sugar 1 cinnamon stick 1 vanilla pod 2 pieces of star anise A small cup of water Preparation: Cut the vanilla pod open with a knife and scrape out the seeds (the black dots). Cut the peeled apple into cubes. Place a pan on the heat, add all the ingredients, bring everything to a boil, then lower the heat so that the apple compote simmers slowly. Let the compote simmer for 30 minutes and stir regularly.
Done! (note: the apple compote is very hot, so don't taste it immediately!)
The apple compote is delicious with Dutch dishes, in your yoghurt, or just as a snack in between :)
